We are seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant to join our team at our Support Center office located in downtown Grand Rapids, MI.
Position SummaryThe Corporate Staff Accountant will serve as a key member of the finance team, providing essential accounting support for Eenhoorn's Support Center, ownership entities, and managed properties. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Staff Accountant will handle a wide range of general accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reconciliations, and seamless intercompany transactions across the portfolio.
This is a dynamic, full-time salaried/exempt role ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, thrives on managing multiple priorities, and is committed to delivering precise, high-quality work in support of the company's growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions for Support Center entities and ownership entities.
- Employee related accounting – loans, rent concessions, reimbursements, petty cash.
- Intercompany accounting – manage all billbacks/charges between Eenhoorn and properties, e.g. reimbursements, portfolio wide contracts, management fees, etc.
- Payroll accounting functions – manage all billbacks between Eenhoorn and properties that are payroll and benefits related.
- Benefits – reconciliations and accounting for withdrawals from flex/HRA accounts.
- Bank Reconciliations for various support and ownership entities.
- Fifth Third Credit Cards – SDG2 system administration.
- Retain all Accounts Payable credit card receipts, balance to statement and enter payments in Yardi.
- Balance sheet reconciliations for support entities.
- Insurance – payment processing and billback to properties.
- Accounting for aviation related activities.
- Manage employee resident accounts and data in Yardi system.
- Make all deposits into Yardi for checks received at Support Center, intercompany checks, etc.
- Record all HUD, Section 8, etc. payment receipts in Yardi for all properties.
- Other duties as assigned.
- General knowledge of accounting and understanding of general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoice processing and payment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and process multiple entities.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines within quick turnaround time.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in related field.
- Payroll experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements.
