We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Grand Rapids to hire a Controller who will own day‑to‑day accounting operations and help drive financial accuracy across the business. This role is a great fit for someone who’s ready to step into a Controller position as their next career move
, coming from an Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager background.
This is a hands‑on, onsite role with visibility to leadership and real ownership of the numbers.
What You’ll Be Doing- Own month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Lead manufacturing cost accounting
, including inventory, variances, and COGS - Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
- Manage fixed assets, inventory accounting, and internal controls
- Partner with operations and plant leadership to support financial decisions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
- Lead and develop accounting staff
- Someone currently in an Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager role ready for the next step
- A hands‑on accounting leader who enjoys being close to the work
- A professional with manufacturing accounting experience (required)
- Someone comfortable working 100% onsite in Grand Rapids
- A self‑starter who values structure, accuracy, and ownership
- Proven experience in manufacturing accounting
, including cost and inventory - Prior experience supporting or owning month‑end close
- ERP system experience and strong Excel skills
