Role Overview

Rockford is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Insurance Coordinator to support our risk management and insurance compliance efforts. In this role, you will play a critical part in helping our trade contractors remain compliant, supporting our internal processes, and maintaining accurate and timely records. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, construction-focused environment. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys detailed administrative work, and has a keen interest in insurance, risk management, or construction operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Request, collect, and verify trade contractor insurance certificates.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in the company’s insurance dashboard system.
  • Upload insurance certificates, track expirations, and follow up with vendors to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with trade contractors to resolve insurance discrepancies or deficiencies.
  • Confirm trade contracts are released, and all necessary insurance documents are on file.
Builder’s Risks And Bonds
  • Track and manage all aspects of Builder’s Risk coverage for assigned projects, ensuring continuous and appropriate coverage limits throughout construction phases.
  • Coordinate with project teams and brokers to obtain project-specific Builder’s Risk quotes, bind policies, and ensure timely issuance of coverage documentation to owners and required parties.
  • Maintain accurate records of all Builder’s Risk policies, endorsements, coverage periods, and valuations, including updates for construction value changes or project milestones.
  • Assist in the claims process related to Builder’s Risk losses, gathering documentation, communicating with adjusters, and tracking resolutions to ensure timely and fair outcomes.
Other Responsibilities
  • Order insurance certificates for municipalities or special project requirements.
  • Perform various clerical and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Support company-wide initiatives around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance is highly preferred.
  • Insurance designation highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work professionally with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Office

The work environment for this position is a typical office environment with occasional construction site visits. When in the office, the physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement, such as accessing centrally located office equipment, lifting of 35 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing, may be necessary to perform the requirements of this position.

Site visits may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction.
