The Procurement Specialist is responsible for assisting in the management of sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and company standards. The ideal candidate brings strong supplier management skills, a strategic mindset, and experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
** Key Essential Functions/Duties:
*** Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors under the guided direction of leadership to ensure strategic alignment and compliance with organizational standards.
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
* Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.
* Collaborate with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Finance to align purchasing with business needs.
* Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Assist in forecasting and inventory planning to ensure supply continuity.
* Participate in cross-functional projects related to procurement and supply chain optimization.
** Education/Experience/Skills/

Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* 3+ years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or co-manufacturing environment.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
** Preferred

Skills:

*** Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM).
* Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
* Experience with food manufacturing.
* Familiarity with global sourcing and logistics.
