Project Architect – Grand Rapids, MI
A design-focused architecture firm is seeking a Project Architect who is passionate about meaningful, purpose-driven design and long-term client relationships. This position offers involvement from concept through construction on a wide range of project types, including custom residential, commercial, workplace, PK–12 and higher education, healthcare, and community environments.

- Translate design intent into accurate and buildable construction documents
- Oversee technical execution and quality throughout the project
- Identify code issues and develop appropriate code strategies
- Manage clarity, hierarchy, and precision of drawings, details, and materials
- Oversee the creation and accuracy of technical specifications
- Lead and coordinate the work of project team members
- Direct consultant teams to ensure well-integrated and cohesive documentation
- Support construction administration through submittal review, shop drawing evaluation, site visits, and issue resolution
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams
- Maintain alignment with the firm’s mission, standards, and commitment to ongoing improvement
- Master of Architecture (professional degree)
- Architectural licensure preferred
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in both commercial and residential project types preferred
- Strong technical and design architectural skills
- High proficiency in Revit, Sketch Up, and specification tools (e.g., Spec Link)
- Proven ability to manage full sets of construction documents and coordinate consultant work
- Technical proficiency in executing details aligned with design intent
- Construction administration experience required
- Skilled communicator with a collaborative approach
- Ability to manage multiple projects and interact effectively with clients and partners
- Strong desire for ongoing learning and professional growth
