Lead Teacher - 2-Year-Old Classroom

The Learning Experience - Cascade
Grand Rapids, MI
Pay: $17-$20 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9:0 AM-6:00 PM

If you've worked with 2-year-olds, you already know there is never a boring day.

The Learning Experience - Cascade is looking for an experienced Lead Teacher who can turn their endless curiosity, growing vocabulary, emerging independence, and big personalities into meaningful learning experiences.

You'll provide the consistency and positive guidance children need while creating plenty of opportunities to explore, play, communicate, and build new skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences
  • Implement The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Engage children through sensory play, art, music, movement, stories, language, and imaginative play
  • Encourage communication, independence, and self-help skills
  • Support social-emotional development and positive peer interactions
  • Use positive guidance and developmentally appropriate classroom management
  • Support toileting, diapering, meals, rest time, and daily routines
  • Observe and document children's developmental progress
  • Guide and collaborate with Assistant Teachers
  • Build positive partnerships with families
  • Follow Michigan licensing and center requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous professional childcare or early childhood classroom experience required
  • Experience with toddlers or 2-year-olds strongly preferred
  • CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or other qualifying credential preferred
  • Must meet Michigan requirements to serve as a Lead Caregiver
  • Dependable, patient, energetic, and confident managing a classroom
