Qualifications
- Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Successful completion of a criminal history check
- Knowledge of special education procedures and IEP requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using student information systems and special education software
What You’ll Do
- Manage a caseload of special education students, including IEPs, REEDs, and MDRs
- Develop and implement appropriate IEPs
- Provide academic support in resource room and general education settings
- Measure student skills and progress using appropriate assessments
- Advise general education teachers on accommodations and modifications
- Coordinate testing accommodations for students with IEPs
- Complete required special education reports and documentation
- Participate in the Child Find process and Special Education PLC
- Collaborate with administrators regarding discipline and student support
- Maintain accurate digital and paper student records
- Work collaboratively with school staff to provide appropriate special education services
- Perform other duties as assigned
