Position SummaryThe Systems Engineer is a key technical contributor responsible for designing and implementing advanced automation and fluid power systems. This role involves creating detailed designs, documentation, and supporting system implementation to ensure functionality, quality, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities will vary based on experience level. Entry-level engineers will focus on foundational design and documentation tasks, while experienced engineers will lead complex projects, mentor others, drive innovation, and shape technical strategy.
Engineers at all levels collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.
As a Systems Engineer, you impact MFP’s technical leadership and customer success. Entry-level engineers will build foundational skills, ensuring smooth execution of projects across departments. Experienced engineers will lead major projects, mentor others, and drive innovation in automation and motion systems. Key Responsibilities- Design hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical automation systems for customer applications.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) hydraulic/electrical schematics and 3D layout models for engineered systems.
- Review customer specifications and ensure design compliance.
- Collaborate with sales team, fellow engineers, and directly with customers, both virtually and in person, to define and validate system requirements.
- Support system startup and commissioning at customer sites.
- Follow internal workflows to maintain quality and consistency.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering or 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain IFPS Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electronic Controls Specialist certifications:
- At least one certification within 1 year.
- All three certifications within 5 years.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Growth mindset with commitment to continuous learning.
- Senior candidates:
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor others.
- Hydraulic fluid power systems and components.
- Industrial automation and manufacturing environments.
- Machine control, PLC interface, sensors, and motion control products.
- General knowledge of business operations.
- Standard office environment with occasional time in manufacturing settings.
