We are hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer to support Steelcase Quality objectives and serve as the customer advocate in the total Supply Chain — from our supply base through product development and manufacturing, to our customers.

• Supporting Steelcase Quality objectives and serving as the customer advocate throughout the total Supply Chain
• Supporting FMEA-based risk mitigation activities
• Designing and evaluating manufacturing quality assurance systems, procedures, and statistical techniques
• Managing functional responsibilities across cross‑functional teams
• Specifying inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment
• Analyzing production and service processes and recommending specification revisions when needed
• Formulating or contributing to quality assurance policies and procedures

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, 2‑4+ years experience in the quality of technical field with associates degree or 4‑6+ years in the quality or technical field.
• 4‑6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or a technical field
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Effective communication and collaboration across cross‑functional teams
• Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Steelcase will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization and/or visas for this role.

• Applying a comprehensive understanding of quality engineering principles and standards (e.g., ASQ Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge)
• Developing technical solutions to complex, strategic problems
• Making decisions that significantly impact the customer experience
• Collaborating effectively across functions and levels of management
• Demonstrating project management and advanced facilitation skills
• Representing the company as a technical lead on key projects
• Understanding product testing requirements, development cycles, and special processes

The starting annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Steelcase considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
