Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer
The Product Engineer will receive direction from engineers to support one of the largest customers in the distribution space. The role involves managing projects post‑concept approval by the end customer.
Responsibilities- Complete load testing, cycle testing, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Conduct racking tests to validate performance and implement corrective actions if necessary, focusing on DFMEA/PFMEA aspects.
- Develop and complete tolerance specifications, coating tests, and materials specifications and selection.
- Collaborate with third‑party testers to perform testing, write scope statements, and validate results.
- Research and propose lower‑cost, more reliable methods for customers, often working with third‑party suppliers.
- Work closely with overseas suppliers and the supply‑chain team to clarify prints, substitute materials, and negotiate with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Solid Works
- 2‑5 years of experience in Product Engineering
- Hands‑on testing and validation experience
- Experience in writing test procedures
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in PFMEA and DFMEA
- Strong mechanical engineering experience
Work hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 40 hours a week with no overtime. The team consists of five engineers, and the role may involve collaboration with Product Managers and the CAD team. The organization comprises 120 people on‑site, fostering a collaborative environment with opportunities for leadership growth.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 – $43.27/hr.
