Senior Project Engineer – Trail Ridge Power
Location:
Fully remote, United States (eligible within US)
Trail Ridge Power (TRP) is a private‑equity‑owned leader in decarbonization solutions. As an integrator and asset owner, TRP partners with national commercial and industrial real‑estate groups to deliver renewable energy projects, energy efficiency, and other energy services.
The role reports to the Senior Director of Project Engineering. Join a team dedicated to designing, developing, financing, owning, and operating renewable energy assets such as solar PV generation, battery storage, and other technologies to meet net‑zero‑carbon objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage internal engineering workflow and diligence for project acquisitions.
- Contribute to design and engineering of renewable energy and cleantech projects.
- Oversee full project life cycle, managing third‑party consulting engineers, partners, and engineering plans to internal standards.
- Serve as the owner’s engineer overseeing contracted engineering firms and partner EPCs.
- Enforce design and engineering, equipment, and construction standards.
- Collaborate with development and finance to assess feasibility, construction complexity, and find innovative solutions to reduce project cost.
- Provide technical guidance on solar technology, focusing on rooftop, ground‑mounted fixed‑tilt and single‑axis tracker systems.
- Review project deliverables to ensure compliance with local and national codes, utility interconnection requirements, and client requests, including SOW items.
- Conduct, coordinate, and review energy production estimates using PVsyst and Helioscope.
- Travel up to 30% as required based on base location.
- 7+ years of renewable energy experience, 5+ years in rooftop PV systems and small (1–10 MW) ground‑mount systems.
- Creative and entrepreneurial approach to solving energy/carbon optimization problems.
- Experience managing a large portfolio of projects while prioritizing effectively and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with PV design tools including Helioscope, PVSyst, and AutoCAD.
- Proficient with Procore, project management, energy modeling, and MS Office tools.
- Experience with energy efficiency, CHP, fuel cells, or other carbon reduction technologies is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- PE in electrical, mechanical, or civil preferred.
