Packaging Engineer II

• Support project execution under direction; complete assigned tasks within defined scope using project management tools; develop awareness of project timelines, deliverables, and documentation practices
• Apply foundational knowledge of packaging engineering principles under supervision; develop familiarity with ISO 11607, ASTM, and ISTA standards in medical device and pharmaceutical packaging environments; learn by doing with guidance from senior engineers
• Provide technical expertise in healthcare packaging design, development, and validation; ensure accuracy through procedure validation
• Maintain records and manage all aspects of packaging engineering projects; respond promptly to customer inquiries
• Utilize Lean tools (value stream mapping, kaizen events, problem solving) to reduce waste and improve operational excellence
• Provide relevant training to PCL Lab Technicians; support sales and business development efforts as applicable

• A strong work ethic, professional conduct, and a positive contribution to team culture
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in direct client interface
• Motivation to seek additional technical certifications and actively participate in industry-specific organizations
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Zero to two years’ experience in packaging engineering, packaging laboratory testing, or a related field; medical packaging experience preferred
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Packaging Engineering or related technical field; training will be provided
• Previous package testing/laboratory experience preferred

• This position is salary exempt. The pay range varies depending on skills, abilities, relevant experience, and length of service with the company
