Dematic has an immediate need for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Grand Rapids, MI. The successful candidate must have 0-8 years of mechanical design experience.

Experience with material handling equipment is a plus. Candidate should have knowledge of Siemens NX CAD/CAM software and AutoCAD software.
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $90,400.00 - $ at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.#

**** What you Will Do in This Role:*
* * Own and execute mechanical engineering scope for assigned Amazon modernization/retrofit projects
* Ensure project targets are met for quality, on-time delivery, and cost. Anticipate issues and address proactively where appropriate
* Maintain up-to-date project log through department project tracking tool
* Regularly report on project portfolio performance including but not limited to: on-time delivery, budget, quality, risks
* Own short-term monthly forecast across assigned projects regardless of resource reporting.
* Completes the design of complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
* Completes complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up.
* Completes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
* Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
* Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills to deal with most situations.
* Master understanding of project schedule and budget for Mechanical Engineering functions.#

Qualifications:

**** What We are Looking For:*
* * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
* At least 5 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer, but 8+ years is preferred.
* Proficiency in CET Configura and Autocad is highly preferred.
* Familiar with Amazon DC installation type (ARS, IXD, SSD, Air Hub, non-sort).
* Familiarity with Amazon specific MTBH, rates, and sub-system designs.
* Familiar with Amazon design specifications.
* Strong background in Material Handling/automation industry.
* Experience in a Mechanical Engineering position that is project-based (design to installation).
* Strong communication skills/presentation skills.
* Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
* Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
* Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.
* Communicates, trains and works with customer for final system design.
* Travels up to 20% of the time to different customer locations/Dematic locations
