The MRI Technologist position at Trinity Health Grand Rapids MRI Team offers a full‑time role with a 32‑hour week, primarily on weekends (6 am – 10 pm). The team serves outpatient, inpatient, and ED needs across two locations.

The MRI Technologist performs a wide variety of magnetic resonance imaging examinations, producing high‑quality diagnostic images. The role maintains an orderly and clean work environment and, on occasions, performs routine clerical tasks.
Responsibilities- Perform a variety of examinations with MRI equipment, producing high‑quality diagnostic MRI scans.
- Properly position patients for exam.
- Maintain MRI patient safety by investigating, evaluating, coordinating device reps, and clearing all patients for entry into Zone 4.
- Evaluate the quality of images.
- Administer specific MRI contrast and materials.
- Assist Radiologist in performing routine and/or special procedures.
- Assess patient’s condition to determine appropriate procedure and technique.
- Provide instruction to MRI students.
- Explain exam and procedures and acquire patient history.
- Monitor safety and comfort of patient through the exam.
- Completion of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) approved Radiologic Technology Program, Nuclear Medicine Technology program, or an MRI‑specific curriculum.
- ARRT certification (or CNMT) and board eligibility within 6 months of hire. Must be ARRT(MR) certified within 2 years of hire and maintain 24 continuing education credits per biennium.
- Certification or recertification in CPR within three months of hire.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform push/pull tasks requiring a maximum force of 35 lbs.
- Preferred: ARRT certification in MRI.
- Preferred:
One year of experience as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist or two years as a Registered Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
