Eeg Technologist Registered

Responsible for the production of high quality neurodiagnostic tests needed to provide physicians with clinical data to aid in establishing a diagnosis. Communicates and works with Neurologists in a manner that improves patient care. Provides non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring for Neurology/Epilepsy patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), including computer set up, editing, and data mining. Oversees clinical practice of EEG Technician and EEG Trainees.

• Responsible for the production of high quality neurodiagnostic tests needed to provide physicians with clinical data to aid in establishing a diagnosis.
• Communicates and works with Neurologists in a manner that improves patient care.
• Provides non-invasive EEG testing and continuous monitoring for Neurology/Epilepsy patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), including computer set up, editing, and data mining.
• Oversees clinical practice of EEG Technician and EEG Trainees.

• Graduate of an accredited Electroneuro diagnostic Program (END) program or on the job training with a minimum of two years experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Electroneuro diagnostic Program (END) with a minimum of an Associates Degree and one year Electroneuro diagnostic experience preferred.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Certification as an EEG Technologist by the American Board of Electroneuro diagnostic Technologists (ABRET).
• One or more years of neurodiagnostic experience.
• Ability to demonstrate competency in routine EEG techniques, long term monitoring techniques, recordings, lab protocols and instrumentation.
• Ability to demonstrate competency in Visual Evoked Potentials, Electromyography (EMG), Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER) and WADA testing preferred.
