Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign-on bonus for this opportunity.

About the Unit

7 North is a 39‑bed medical‑surgical GI/GU unit located in Butterworth Hospital. This unit is known for its outstanding teamwork and welcoming atmosphere, and offers continuous opportunities for learning and growth due to a diverse patient population. Though classified as a medical/surgical unit, it specializes in care of urology and surgical oncology post‑operative patients as well as those with gastrointestinal diagnoses.

The team excels in managing nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters, urologic care, and the care of wounds, ostomies, tubes, and drains. Surgeries performed on 7 North include nephrectomy, Whipple, cholecystectomy, pancreatectomy, and kidney donor procedures.

Scope of Work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and by law in the State of Michigan. Nurses demonstrate competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, upholding the ANA’s standards of professional performance: ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.

Nurses strive to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Associate in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor in Nursing (required within 5 years)
  • Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required within 60 days)
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) (required within 90 days)
