About this position:
The Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in driving strategic enterprise initiatives across the credit union, with a focus on enhancing agility, member experience, and operational efficiency. As a key member of the Enterprise Agility team, this role leads cross-functional projects that align with organizational priorities, including digital transformation, modernization of core systems, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate possesses extensive project leadership experience, a deep understanding of the credit union industry, and a passion for agile delivery and continuous improvement.
What you'll do:
Strategic Leadership & Project Oversight:
* Lead complex, cross-functional enterprise projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and member-centric outcomes.
* Provide strategic direction and mentorship to project managers and cross-functional peers, contributing to the maturity of the Enterprise Agility framework and overall project management excellence.
* Champion the adoption of agile and adaptive delivery practices, facilitating agile ceremonies and fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration.
Planning, Execution &
Risk Management:
* Collaborate with business and technical leaders to define project scope, objectives, success metrics, and resource needs that drive clarity and accountability.
* Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies, to ensure predictable delivery and transparency.
* Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify challenges early, propose practical solutions, and implement contingency plans that maintain project momentum.
* Proactively identify and resolve project issues, dependencies, and risks with a solutions-oriented mindset and sense of ownership.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, using strong partnership and influencing skills to manage expectations, inform decisions, and drive alignment on project outcomes.
* Build and sustain strong relationships across departments-such as Member Experience, Lending, IT, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, and Risk-to promote organizational alignment, shared accountability, and trust.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
* Monitor and report on project health, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership and governance committees, using data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
* 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3 years leading enterprise-level initiatives. Experience in the credit union or broader financial services industry is strongly preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in business, project management, finance, technology, or related field of study.
* PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe certification preferred.
* Proven ability to build trust and handle confidential matters while influencing and motivating diverse stakeholders through clear, diplomatic communication.
* Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills with experience leading cross-functional meetings and collaborating effectively across all organizational levels.
* Track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects on time and within budget using agile, hybrid, and waterfall methodologies; proficient with project management tools (Jira, Service Now SPM, Miro, SharePoint)
* Experience in credit union operations and core banking systems (Symitar, Silverlake) with understanding of regulatory requirements; ability to lead multiple concurrent enterprise initiatives aligned to strategic goals
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to define KPIs, diagnose root causes, and manage competing priorities while delivering quality results under tight deadlines
