Systems Administrator, IT Support
Tier 3 Systems Administrator – Belcan, Grand Rapids, MI
A Tier 3 Systems Administrator job is currently available at Belcan in Grand Rapids, MI. This is a full‑time, direct‑hire position with full benefits. The role involves provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining systems hardware and software, leading technical research and development, and ensuring high‑level escalation items are completed.
Security clearance and citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret clearance, must hold a current CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or be willing to obtain it) and must pass a drug test.
Shift availability: One first shift and one second shift opportunity are available. Candidates must be open to covering shifts as needed.
Job Duties- Act as subject‑matter expert in system administration and support for Windows and Linux workstations, servers, and operating systems.
- Maintain networks, storage, and backups in classified program areas.
- Administer Active Directory and manage group/local policy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced system and application issues.
- Apply system patches and perform compliance tasks.
- Monitor and complete all escalations from L1 and L2 resources.
- Build and inspire a team environment with clear goals, delegation, and performance management.
- Motivate staff, identify training needs, coach, resolve conflicts, recognize high performance, and promote risk‑taking and teamwork.
- 5–7 years of experience in Active Directory administration.
- 5–7 years of experience in group/local policy administration.
- 5–7 years of advanced system troubleshooting and issue remediation.
- 5–7 years of advanced application troubleshooting and issue remediation.
- Proficiency with Power Shell.
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications.
- Demonstrated leadership in a supervisory or team‑leader role.
- Knowledge of performance metrics, excellent communication, and decision‑making skills.
- Organizational and time‑management skills.
- Degree in management or formal training in leading teams (preferred).
Salary range: $92,500‑$115,000 annually. Belcan considers education, experience, geographic location, and discipline when extending an offer. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), education assistance, paid time off and other law‑required leave.
