General Statement of Duties:
Operation of a variety of machines.

Responsibilities range from loading/unloading materials onto/off machines, processing tubing through equipment and ensuring quality of tubes being produced and shipped out.

Supervision Received:
Reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.

Requires full range of body motion to include: constant lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting, walking, reaching, working overhead, climbing, standing, and the ability to maintain one’s balance while performing the required work tasks. Must be able to work 8 hours per day, standing on a concrete floor. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires frequent unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 to 50 pounds with an average weight of 34 – 37 pounds.

Utilizes a variety of hand positions to work equipment controls and maneuver tubes throughout manufacturing process. Most jobs are fast paced and the ability to deal with stress is essential.

Typical

Working Conditions:

Indoor, manufacturing environment with minimal exposure to loud and prolonged noise—when exposed, hearing protection is required. Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include safety glasses with side shields and steel toed work shoes. Employees experience regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95° F to 110° F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility.

Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature. Employees stand 8 hours on concrete floors and are required to wear steel toed safety shoes.

Examples of Essential Duties: A typical day consists of the following tasks. Ensures that the equipment is in a safe operating condition. Review the computerized work list for the equipment, must be able to locate available material. Communicate with the other operators to formulate the run order of material. Load/unload various machines to include conveyors. Perform any necessary set-up during shift.

Process the job and stage material for material handler. Use of SAP for accessing work orders, creating batches and finish goods tags. Use of FIFO inventory management to ensure oldest material is used first. Housekeeping and preventative maintenance duties are required daily. Following of all safety policies and procedures required.

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Ability to deal with stress and get along with co-workers and supervisors. Ability to read and speak English is required. Mathematical skills equivalent to high school level required. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers. Regular attendance at work and punctuality are essential job functions.
2.

Education:

High School education or equivalent is preferred.
3.

Experience:

Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
4. Equipment:
After Training, must be able to operate a variety of industrial machines safely and efficiently. All personnel must be fully capable of operating fork trucks and overhead cranes.

Hours:

Regular shift consist of eight hours, Monday through Friday. Hours of work dependent upon shift assignment. Shift schedule is subject to change as needed.

NOTE:

Meeting the physical demands, essential duties, performance requirements, working hours and maintaining consistent and regular attendance are essential job functions for all plant employees.

Must have reliable transportation to/from location as city bus does not come down to 76th Street.
