As our Press Operator Apprentice, you’ll gain foundational skills in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a printing press while supporting a team committed to excellence and mission impact.

In this role, you won’t just learn to operate machinery—you’ll build hands‑on expertise that prepares you for a full Press Operator role, contributing directly to the production of materials that support our global ministry.

• Learn Press Operations:
  Work under the direction of a qualified Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain printing presses.
• Ensure Safety:
  Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with lockout/tagout protocols.
• Maintain Quality:
  Adhere to quality control guidelines, SOPs, and process checklists to ensure high‑quality output.
• Prepare for Production Runs:
  Assist in reviewing job specifications, setting up the press, and inspecting key press systems.
• Monitor Paper Flow:
  Load paper, operate paper joggers, and perform necessary paper transfers during production.
• Support Maintenance Tasks:
  Collaborate with Press Operators and Press Assistants on routine and preventive maintenance.
• Learn Printing
  
  Skills:
  
  Gain hands‑on experience with measuring color and alignment, and learn to spot and correct common print issues.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical Aptitude:
  Interest in hands‑on technical tasks and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Reliability:
  Strong attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed.
• Experience:
  
  Previous manufacturing or printing experience preferred.

  Skills:
  
  Ability to read job tickets, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and safety procedures.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Ability to lift 20–50 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods.
• Color Awareness:
  Ability to distinguish and identify color variations.
