This position coordinates the activities and employees of the assigned work area/machine under the direct supervision of the shift supervisor, in association with the Plant Manager.

Starting at $22.00 an hour

Essential Job Functions

• Performs assigned duties and acts in a manner that adheres to company safety policies and practices.
• Prepare tools, equipment and required purge materials for change-over in addition to inspecting all parts for set up.
• Tear down dies and downstream equipment from previous production run.
• Cleans machines, dies, and other essential equipment needed in the extrusion process.
• Installs new die, set up line equipment/presses for next production run, and perform new product trials.
• Ensure proper material and equipment in place; input specifications into computer to run the lines.
• Run line and inspect output; fine tune to ensure quality product that meets specifications and proper operation of equipment.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation and communicates line conditions to appropriate leadership.
• Helps to ensure that all auxiliary machinery and equipment is clean and free of oil and grease on surfaces. Machinery and equipment include, but not limited to:
• Water chillers.
• Air compressors.
• Special trimming and de-flash equipment.
• Material loading equipment material grinding equipment.
• Machine shop equipment.
• Assists in the proper cleanup and disposal of waste material and oil spills.
• Removes scrap plastic on and around auxiliary machines.
• Removes film buildup on gate and conveyor surfaces.
• Assist Maintenance technicians when required.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or modified.

• At least 3 years’ experience with Sheet and Profile extrusion process or related experience, preferably within the plastics or automotive industry.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to enter Production Date into computer monitoring system.
• All positions require high school diploma equivalent or higher.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends required.
• Experience with Plex Systems a plus.
