Production Supervisor

Job Description

Production Supervisor role at GE Aerospace – Grand Rapids facility. This position supervises the daily operations of the manufacturing team with a focus on safety, quality, and on-time delivery to meet customer expectations.

The Production Supervisor will supervise the daily operations of the business while prioritizing safety of the team, quality, and delivery to exceed customer expectations.

• Oversee and manage front-line hourly manufacturing employees (union).
• Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
• Monitor processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and manage daily production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments. Optimize workflows to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Manage resources effectively to control costs while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery performance.
• Supervise and mentor a team of technicians and operators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service, to resolve technical challenges and improve processes.
• Utilize Lean methodologies (FLIGHT DECK) to identify and implement process improvements, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to SQDC metrics.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of manufacturing/production experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading people in a manufacturing and/or production environment.

• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, Standard Work, Hoshin Kanri).
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with aerospace regulatory requirements and processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
