Salary Range: $21.63 To $21.63 Hourly

Title: Sewing Machinist

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Exemption Status: Union UAW - Hourly

Position Summary: Operates different types of sewing machines safely and efficiently while maintaining a high-quality level. Materials to be sewn include numerous fabrics, various vinyl’s, and leather.

• Follows the manufacturing plans on sewing and assembling the units and pieces.
• Ensures product is built following product and process specifications.
• Communicates the current product, process or material constraints or issues to the team leader or supervisor.
• Checks product to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintains equipment and workspace is in good condition.
• Performs inventory transactions in the system as required.
• Inputs production quantities and time data.
• Create product and box labels.
• Reports on issues, malfunction, or defective parts.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of industrial sewing experience

• Proficient in single and double stitch sewing.
• Technical knowledge and ability to read instructions, blueprints, drawings, tape measure (including decimals) etc.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Must have an eye for detail and quality.
• Ability to work with a team and/or individually.
• Ability to work regular schedules set forth by the Management team.

• Sitting for majority of shift.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to twist, bend, stoop as needed.
• Frequent repetitive hand/arm motion.
• Safety glasses are required.
