Registered Nurse, 24 Hrs Weekly, 3rd Shift, Neurodevelopmental Disorders Unit

Join Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services as a Registered Nurse, 24 Hrs Weekly, 3rd Shift, Neurodevelopmental Disorders Unit.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Schedule: 8-hour shift, 11pm-7:30am, third shift, every other weekend required

Start-up Bonus: $6,000

About The Unit

We are launching a 4-bed pilot within our Child and Adolescent Unit for neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability, with plans for a future 10-bed unit at our Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health opening in March 2026. The program focuses on behavioral management, family training, and collaborative care to support successful reintegration into home, school, and community.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs, develop and reassess care plans with an interdisciplinary team
  • Coordinate nursing care with physicians
  • Educate patients and families, assist with discharge planning
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Document all care activities accurately
  • Monitor safety risks and report to physicians
  • Promote a positive, professional environment
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse settings
  • Lead and delegate staff responsibilities, promote staff development
  • Review and improve care protocols and standards
  • Train direct care staff as needed
  • Support medication and health activities oversight
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and pre-authorizations
  • Model organizational values and professionalism, provide holistic support to patients
  • Support recovery-focused, person-centered environment in residential settings
  • Maintain annual training and competency requirements
Qualifications
  • Licensed to practice in Michigan
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Relevant clinical experience, psychiatric nursing knowledge preferred
