Position: RN - PACU - Weekend Schedule

RN - PACU - Weekend Schedule at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System

Employment Type: Part time

Shift: Weekend Shift (Saturday & Sunday, 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.)

Description

Care of Surgical patients post anesthesia.

Position Summary

Registered Nurse, RN works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse, RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

What you will need
  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
  • In Grand Rapids, if ADN, must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete within 4 years of hire
  • Licensed in the State of Michigan
  • 1 year of experience as an RN required; experience in an acute care setting preferred
  • Specialty credentialing in clinical nursing practice preferred
What you will do

Pre-Op

  • Optimize the patient for surgery through questionnaires, lab work and history.
  • Communicate effectively with family members before and during the surgery.
  • Assist in obtaining consents for surgery.

Post-Op

  • Care of the Surgical patients post anesthesia.
Work Schedule
  • Part time
  • Saturday & Sunday (Weekend Schedule)
  • 6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Orientation will be full time schedule
