Certified Nursing Assistant, Part Time, 2nd shift (Assisted Living)
The Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing high‑quality resident care in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and regulatory requirements. This dual‑certified role ensures the safe and accurate administration of medications under the direction of a nurse, while also providing direct, hands‑on support with activities of daily living to promote dignity, independence, and overall well‑being.
Responsibilities- Under the supervision of the Nurse, passes medication and provides treatments according to physician’s orders and in accordance with facility policy. Provides, completes and documents as assigned timely and accurately.
- Maintain resident rooms in a clean and orderly manner by providing light housekeeping, changing linen, making beds, putting away clothing and personal effects, tidying bedside table, shelves, closets, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Provide direct care and assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, mobility, and feeding.
- Assist residents with basic personal care according to procedures and daily assignment, including bathing, dressing, dental hygiene, toilet activities, grooming, feeding, transportation/transfer, and use of supportive devices with proper safety techniques.
- Attend and participate in facility meetings and in‑service training programs.
- Practice good infection control techniques in all aspects of resident care. Prepare residents for meals, assist with serving meals and feeding of residents.
- Observe residents’ rights including, but not limited to, privacy and dignity.
- Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition, behavior, or functional status. Safeguard the resident’s privacy and property.
- Participate in the orientation of new or temporary staff to the unit to assure continuity in the delivery of resident care.
- Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
- Provide restorative care to residents as assigned by the Nurse or as indicated in the overall plan of care.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Give clear and concise direction to staff and others.
- Required Degree:
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Preferred Degree: N/A
- Preferred Certificate(s):
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medication Aide (CMA) and CPR. Certifications are required in accordance with state regulations. - Experience:
0–1 Years
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of various medications, their purposes, dosages, routes of administration, and potential side effects.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of record‑keeping skills to document medication administration and patient responses accurately.
- Ability to educate patients about their medications.
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to operate various equipment based on department.
- The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
- Clarity of Vision:
- For near visual acuity:
Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (e.g., working with small objects or reading small print, including use of computers). - For far visual acuity:
Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. - For peripheral vision:
Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
- For near visual acuity:
$16.25 – $19.84 per hour. Reasonable pay estimate range is based on qualifications, experience, education, location, and internal and external equity.
