Licensed Practical Nurse – Villa Healthcare

Villa at Borgess Place, 3057 Gull Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49048

Shift: 6PM to 10PM (16 hours per week)

$33.40/hr – $37.40/hr

• Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Perform resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care.
• Take and record vital signs; administer catheter care, IV therapy, oxygen, nebulizer treatments as ordered within license limitations.
• Chart nurse’s notes in an informative, descriptive manner reflecting care provided and resident’s response.
• Ensure resident environment is free from accidents and hazards; immediately correct/address potential safety risks.
• Monitor and direct non-licensed ancillary services as deemed necessary to maintain professional standards.
• Communicate/report information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and correct non-compliance promptly.
• Follow HIPAA compliance policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• CPR trained with current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Understand and follow infection control standards, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
• Positive, effective, and appropriate interaction with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and facility staff.

• Licensed Practical Nurse degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
• Current LPN license in the State of Michigan.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Long‑term care experience preferred.

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without aid of mechanical devices.
• Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
