Licensed Practical Nurse – Villa Healthcare
Location:
Villa at Borgess Place, 3057 Gull Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49048
Shift: 6PM to 10PM (16 hours per week)
Base Pay Range$33.40/hr – $37.40/hr

- Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Perform resident assessments/observations and interventions, reviewing care plans to ensure appropriate care.
- Take and record vital signs; administer catheter care, IV therapy, oxygen, nebulizer treatments as ordered within license limitations.
- Chart nurse’s notes in an informative, descriptive manner reflecting care provided and resident’s response.
- Ensure resident environment is free from accidents and hazards; immediately correct/address potential safety risks.
- Monitor and direct non-licensed ancillary services as deemed necessary to maintain professional standards.
- Communicate/report information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies, and facility personnel as required.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and correct non-compliance promptly.
- Follow HIPAA compliance policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- CPR trained with current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Understand and follow infection control standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
- Positive, effective, and appropriate interaction with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and facility staff.
- Licensed Practical Nurse degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Current LPN license in the State of Michigan.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Long‑term care experience preferred.
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without aid of mechanical devices.
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
