OverviewAre you looking for something meaningful to do with your spare time? Brighton Hospice offers a variety of ways to give back and support others.
A hospice volunteer is an individual trained by Brighton Hospice to assist patients, their families, and the hospice team. You don't need any prior medical experience. Volunteers help fulfill the promise of hospice in many ways.
Responsibilities- Visit patients wherever they live (at home, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities).
- Assist with letter writing or other projects.
- Read to the patient or watch a favorite TV program with them.
- Play games with the patient or family.
- Take the patient outside for a walk.
- Assist with clerical tasks.
- Assist with the bereavement program.
- Participate in community outreach.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Passionate about helping others.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Active auto insurance.
- Reliable transportation for traveling to patients’ homes.
- Willing to submit to a detailed background check.
This is a volunteer role with no hourly wage or other compensation provided.
