Department Overview
Children's Hospital Oakland is part of a Federally Qualified Health Center with large number of families at or below the poverty line and recent immigrants. We provide speciality mental health care and are embedded in the primary care setting with 2,000 annual encounters. The FQHC integrates a multidisciplinary team that is highly collaborative and motivated to work with the population.
Job SummaryInvolves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. Designs and conducts research including selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results.
Statistical and Data AnalysisUnder direct supervision, performs basic statistical and data analysis.
Research Data Collection and PreparationCollects research data and prepares it for analysis.
Study Design and Survey DevelopmentAssists with study design proposals and survey instruments.
Research Instruments and Data SourcesSupports testing of research instruments and data sources.
Data Reporting ProductsAssists with evaluation and research of data reporting products.
Data Storage, Documentation and DisseminationDevelops knowledge in areas of storage, documentation and dissemination of computerized data.
Required Qualifications- Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
- Basic consultation and communication skills.
- Acquiring knowledge of research function. Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties.
- Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
