Territory Sales Manager – GPM Investments, LLC

Location:

Grand Rapids, MI

Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 plus commission (on volume growth). The position is full‑time and requires occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all new account and contract set‑up details (pricing, freight, taxes, invoice requirements) are accurate and complete.
  • Maintain awareness of and report on competitor sales efforts and programs within the assigned territory.
  • Build and update account plans for key growth customers, ensuring contracts are met.
  • Optimize the company’s return on capital deployed.
  • Advise customers on retailing factors, including competitive pricing, customer service, retail facility appearance, and cleanliness.
  • Identify opportunities through prospecting, customer relationship management, and external resources; develop business plans, sales proposals, and present them to potential and existing customers.
  • Maintain documentation of sales activities, customer efficiency, and related expenses.
  • Prepare and submit sales plans as required.
  • Assume accountability for individual site volume performance; attain quantitative and qualitative performance targets.
  • Organize and execute annual client reviews.
  • Oversee approved contractors and vendors to develop, maintain, and deliver imaging and customer support projects on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage time efficiently by prioritizing high‑value activities and eliminating non‑value activities.
  • Collaborate with internal real‑estate groups, external brokerages, and online resources to source potential wholesale marketer acquisitions.
  • Maintain knowledge of brand requirements and ensure necessary remedies are completed.
  • Ensure new and renewal contracts comply with the Petroleum Marketers Practice Act and dealer fuel agreements.
  • Understand and analyze Profit and Loss reports, fuel financial reports, and sales reports.
  • Partner with customers to develop long‑term relationships, generate additional sales, and guide problem resolution discussions.
  • Attend industry conventions and other marketing activities to build professional relationships.
  • Advise customers on equipment upgrades and assist through the purchase or upgrade process, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Demonstrate leadership: direct sales calls, manage sales contracts, and close sales.
  • Maintain a full sales pipeline, managing opportunities through all stages to achieve sales volume.
  • Perform analysis of potential new business deals and contract renewals; present pro‑forma to the executive team.
  • Maintain communication between customers and the company.
  • Obtain and maintain accurate customer details and documents in CRM.
  • Stay knowledgeable of relevant customer issues, pricing, billing procedures, and operational concerns, including brand programs and standards.
  • Collect documents and details to resolve customer concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent 3–5 years of experience in the field.
  • 5+ years of sales management with a focus on new business development and marketing/merchandising experience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Two (2) years of prior customer service experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Fuel industry experience with knowledge of branded and unbranded programs.
  • Experience with CRM tools.
Hours & Travel

The position is full‑time and requires some overnight travel.
