The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

As a Mobile Diesel Technician II- DOT, you’ll take your skills on the road to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs. - You’ll work independently in the field, providing mobile service and maintenance support for light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs.
- Diagnose, adjust and repair various types of truck equipment, including but not limited to: electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, AC systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, gas and diesel engines, manual and automatic transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, lift and jacks, welding equipment, diagnostic tools, technology and testing equipment, such as handheld computers and pressure gauges, to inspect, test and troubleshoot vehicle systems.
- Road test vehicles to identify issues, verify repairs and ensure they are operating safely and properly.
- Maintain and operate a company-issued service truck and telematics unit, including managing parts and vehicle equipment, and performing inventory reconciliation.
- Completing vehicle safety checks and pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Serve as a trusted partner to customers by understanding their needs, providing expert guidance and periodic updates, resolving issues in the field and delivering a positive service experience.
- Document completed work (including required DOT forms and service documentation), parts used and repair order findings accurately and on time using company-issued hand-held device.
- Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.
- Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
- Follow all safety, health and environmental policies and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA and DOT standards.
- Follow an assigned daily schedule with a degree of independence, effectively managing multiple concurrent tasks while exercising sound judgment to prioritize work activities and allocate time efficiently in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
