The Unaccompanied Children (UC) Transitional Foster Care (TFC) Clinician conducts mental health assessments, provides ongoing individual and group counseling services, screens for human trafficking concerns, and offers crisis intervention services.

- Conduct weekly group therapy sessions twice per week with clients in the program.
- Conduct weekly individual sessions with clients or as outlined in the therapeutic individualized treatment plan.
- Complete and report on client intakes, closing summaries, and psychosocial documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with agency standards.
- Provide child-facing services on site.
- Provide reports and testimonies in court, as requested.
- Establish and maintain referral and community resources.
- Administer the intake psychosocial assessment within 24‑48 hours of the client’s arrival to the program.
- Administer the trafficking assessment within the defined number of days of the client’s arrival to the program.
- Provide additional counseling sessions with children and their families either by phone or virtual, as needed, to assist in the reunification process.
- Actively participate in meetings.
- Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services.
- Stay up to date on treatment modalities and complete trainings as required by funding sources, by attending conferences, seminars, and journal readings.
- Attend training provided internally and in the community and apply newly gained knowledge in providing services.
- Translate both written and verbal communication for program clientele and staff.
- Attend weekly program meetings to consult on cases, review case plans and direction, and evaluate client participation and progress.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts.
- Effectively utilize appropriate systems for data gathering, submission, and tracking client services rendered in accordance with time‑bound expectations based on contract requirements, agency expectations, and program policy.

- Perform other special assignments at the supervisor’s request.
- Ability to work effectively on a multi‑disciplinary treatment team.
- Ability to build rapport with clients to help them adjust to new life circumstances.
- Ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of the National Association of Social Work Code of Ethics and the NASW Standards for the practice of direct social work.
- Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to relate to diverse populations and cultures while communicating with clients and the public in a courteous and effective manner.
While performing the duties of this position, the staff member is regularly required to talk and/or hear, sit, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The staff member is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The staff member on occasion may be asked to move or lift items up to 40 pounds in weight.
WorkEnvironment
This position is primarily office based, but may require travel to other agency locations on occasion. The position is on‑site—must be willing to work entirely in person; telework may be needed ad‑hoc or situationally.
