Expected compensation: 20.00 USD Per Hour

Hire Art is helping an Autonomous Shuttle Startup hire Autonomous Vehicle Operators to help test and support self-driving vehicles in the Grand Rapids area. If you’ve worked as a Driver or in hospitality, home health care, warehousing, insurance, customer service, or similar fields—this is a great way to pivot into an exciting, people-first role in tech.

You’ll get full training—you bring the reliability and work ethic you’ve built in your previous jobs.

Available Schedules

Full-Time (5 days/week, including Saturday & Sunday):

• Morning Shift: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Night
  
  Shift: 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Part-Time (2+ days/week, including Saturday & Sunday):

• Morning Shift: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Night
  
  Shift: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Schedules are consistent week to week—no on-call or rotating shifts.

What You'll Do

• Operate an autonomous vehicle on public roads while following all safety laws (no CDL required).
• Welcome and assist passengers—especially individuals with mobility needs.
• Clean the vehicle interior and exterior to ensure a professional and welcoming experience.
• Log observations, ride summaries, and feedback to help improve vehicle performance on a daily basis.
• Support on-the-ground testing and operations as part of a team bringing the future of transportation to life.

• You enjoy helping others and creating a clean, comfortable experience for passengers.
• You’re curious about tech and want a stable, forward-looking job—even without prior experience in the field.
• You’re very punctual with a track record of good attendance

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid U.S. driver's license with 3+ years of safe driving history
• Comfortable with driving vehicles equipped with autonomous systems (training provided)
• Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis and assist passengers using mobility devices up a ramp into a vehicle
• Strong communicator and team player
• Able to pass a Background Check, Motor Vehicle screening, and Drug Test (including THC)
• A technical background working with electronics, mechanical components, or computers a plus

Commitment: This is an ongoing contract position staffed via Hire Art and based on-site in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
