Summary:
As an Operations Process Technician Apprentice, you will play a supportive role in ensuring the efficient operation of extrusion lines, contributing to the production of high‑quality plastic sheets and rolls.
Essential Functions:- Receive training and assist in the startup, shutdown, and changeovers of all 3 extrusion lines, under the mentorship of experienced operators and shift supervisors.
- Contribute to ensuring that extrusion lines are running at optimal efficiency, with a focus on learning and applying troubleshooting skills.
- Assist in monitoring the production process to ensure that the output meets or exceeds the set standards ensuring compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
- Learn and adhere to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure compliance with all current company policies.
- Develop effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to function efficiently in a team‑oriented environment.
- Engage in learning opportunities to suggest improvements for manufacturing processes.
- Willingness and flexibility to work on various shifts to receive comprehensive training and support production needs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
- Willingness to learn extrusion operations and engage actively in training sessions.
- Must have a Mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for hands‑on work.
- Able to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) and ability to learn measurement tools.
- No coaching memos in the previous 12 months.
- Ability to effectively read, interpret and communicate industry and customer specific documentation.
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
- Verified eligibility for employment in the United States.
- 8‑hour shifts, Monday through Friday; availability for non‑traditional hours, including weekends and evenings, as part of a rotational training schedule.
- Continuously works in a typical factory environment (high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, and temperature fluctuations.)
- Occasionally works in a typical office setting which includes:
- Continuously sit, use of computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard, standard telephone, hearing and talking.
- Continuously walk, and stand.
- Occasionally drive forklift.
- Occasionally stoop, sit, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, hear, max lift of 50 lbs.
- This role does not have supervisory responsibilities but offers a pathway to develop leadership skills within the manufacturing environment.
