Job Description Summary

As an Operations Process Technician Apprentice, you will play a supportive role in ensuring the efficient operation of extrusion lines, contributing to the production of high-quality plastic sheets and rolls.

Essential Functions
  • Receive training and assist in the startup, shutdown, and changeovers of all 3 extrusion lines, under the mentorship of experienced operators and shift supervisors.
  • Contribute to ensuring that extrusion lines are running at optimal efficiency, with a focus on learning and applying troubleshooting skills.
  • Assist in monitoring the production process to ensure that the output meets or exceeds the set standards ensuring compliance with work instructions and/or Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
  • Learn and adhere to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensures compliance with all current company policies.
  • Develop effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to function efficiently in a team-oriented environment.
  • Engage in learning opportunities to suggest improvements for manufacturing processes.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work on various shifts to receive comprehensive training and support production needs.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Willingness to learn extrusion operations and engage actively in training sessions.
  • Must have a Mechanical aptitude and enthusiasm for hands-on work.
  • Able to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) and ability to learn measurement tools.
  • No coaching memos in the previous 12 months.
  • Ability to effectively read, interpret and communicate industry and customer specific documentation.
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
  • Verified eligibility for employment in the United States.
Environment and Physical Demands
  • 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday; availability for non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings, as part of a rotational training schedule.
  • Continuously works in a typical factory environment (high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, and temperature fluctuations.)
  • Occasionally works in a typical office setting which includes the use of a computer monitor, mouse, keyboard, telephone; hearing and talking.
  • Continuously walk, and stand.
  • Occasionally drive forklift.
  • Occasionally stoop, sit, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, hear, max lift of 50 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This role does not have supervisory responsibilities but offers a pathway to develop leadership skills within the manufacturing environment.
