About the Position

- Part-time .6-.75 FTE (48-60 hours per pay period)

Job Summary :
A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who has demonstrated expertise in Acute Hospital Care. Effectively delivers care to the patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. In addition, the Charge Nurse possesses the following skills: demonstrated leadership ability, ability to process multiple sources of information independently utilizing critical thinking, is adaptable to frequently changing situations, understands and responds to the needs of a multi-disciplinary team, works to build trust, is passionate about the needs of the customer (patient, family, providers, team members), demonstrated communication skills, and works to empower all members of the team to work toward their full potential.
This position is responsible to ensure that timely, accurate, and professional nursing care is provided to the patients and families.
Here's what you'll do when you join us
- Collaborates with the Critical Care Services and Surgical Services Charge Nurses to assist with any needs of coordinating patient flow.
- Utilization review/Case management support for admission criteria daily
- Ensure the process of reporting patient status to the following shift of nursing personnel.
- Ensure rounds on patients in the department that they are kept informed and updated on the patient's condition and/or situation.
- Assists/supports staff with all levels of patient care delivery.
- Oversee and directs the planning and distribution of patient assignments.
- May assume patient care responsibilities by organizing workload effectively and remaining flexible to environmental changes.
