Reporting to the Foreman, the Dozer Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the dozer on site. This role involves leveling and moving soil, rock, and debris, as well as ensuring proper grading and terrain shaping. The Dozer Operator must be able to control the machine with precision to meet site specifications while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.

How You’ll Add Value

Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment

Operate the dozer and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner

Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment

Use the dozer to level soil, move rock and debris, and scoop soil

Drive dozer in successive passes to raise or lower terrain to specified grade using markings or hand signals

Operate dozer controls to regulate blade height and angle, and scarifier to loosen packed soil

Understand, interpret, and follow directions from supervisors regarding work areas and tasks

Ensure the dozer is in proper gear and suited for working conditions

Demonstrate a strong understanding of ground disturbance and related safety issues

Understanding of computerized controls and electronics

Feel levers and listen to equipment sounds to determine depth of cut

What You Bring

3-5+years’ experience operating a dozer (CAT D6)

GPS Knowledge is an asset

Physically able to safely lift and carry 40lbs regularly

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions

Willing to travel and work out of town for short, fixed-term periods, as needed

Note:

Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing will be required.
