About the RoleAs an Application Sales Engineer
, you will serve as the critical technical and commercial interface between ANDRITZ and regional paper mill operations. Your focus will be to uncover production challenges, recommend engineered solutions, and drive adoption of ANDRITZ Fabrics & Rolls technologies that improve machine performance, reliability, and total cost of ownership.
This role is hands‑on, field‑oriented, and centered around solving real operational issues for mill customers. Success requires technical aptitude, strong customer engagement skills, and the ability to convert field insights into actionable sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Customer & Field Engagement- Build and maintain strong customer relationships across assigned mills to identify new opportunities for ANDRITZ solutions.
- Conduct routine mill visits, paper machine audits, shutdown inspections, and technical service calls.
- Clearly define customer needs and ensure prompt, accurate follow‑through on issues and requests.
- Apply proprietary diagnostic tools, modeling software, and engineered solutions to optimize machine performance.
- Perform root‑cause analysis, equipment troubleshooting, and application support on machine clothing, roll covers, bowed rolls, and related technologies.
- Assist customers in building and maintaining accurate operational records, performance KPIs, and value documentation.
- Identify, communicate, and execute sales opportunities grounded in technical insight and field data.
- Lead Rezolve press optimization studies to deliver measurable production gains and expand market share.
- Deliver detailed monthly activity reports covering opportunities, competitive intelligence, operational trends, and customer needs.
- Manage travel, expenses, and territory planning effectively to support profitable regional growth.
A high‑performing Application Sales Engineer will:
- Develop trust‑based customer relationships that result in sustained revenue growth.
- Identify performance gaps early and present credible, data‑backed recommendations.
- Provide technical expertise that consistently adds value during every mill engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation and responsive communication with customers and internal teams.
- Proactively safeguard ANDRITZ products and warranties through consistent field presence and issue avoidance.
- Degree in Engineering or Business preferred OR significant experience in paper mill maintenance, operations, or technical sales.
- Strong understanding of paper mill processes and machine clothing and/or rolls applications.
- Proven communication skills and experience developing long‑term customer relationships.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and basic database systems; ability to learn modeling and optimization tools.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote field‑based role.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the region.
