Associate Director of M&A

Are you a top-performing proven financial professional with honed financial modelling skills, exceptional business sense, a strong drive, and relationship management skills? We seek a driven, dedicated, modelling expert with potential to become a future leader for the Perseus Operating Group at Constellation Software, a fast-growing global technology company.

The Associate Director of M&A will support the Vice President of M&A throughout the entire M&A lifecycle, from lead generation to closing transactions. The candidate should be able to lead transactions independently as their career progresses.

Job Location: Toronto, Yonge & St. Clair (onsite 2-3 days/week)

Work Experience/Profile:

• 5+ years of experience at a top-tier accounting, capital advisory, investment banking, management consulting, transaction services, or private equity firm, with 2-3 years of mid-market deal experience
• Experience working with small owner-managed businesses
• Buy-side experience is a plus
• CPA, CA, CFA, and/or MBA considered assets
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written), relationship-building, report writing, research analysis
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling skills
• Willingness to work variable hours and travel as needed
• Confidence and professionalism for interactions with senior stakeholders

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the VP of M&A throughout the M&A process, with potential to lead transactions independently
• Qualify targets through conversations and initial diligence review
• Perform detailed financial analysis to identify trends and assess business quality
• Build financial models for valuation
• Coordinate due diligence with internal teams
• Maintain relationships with decision-makers at targets
