Valve Technician
Unified Valve Group is currently looking for a mechanically inclined Valve Technician for our team in Grande Prairie. This is a great opportunity to work mainly in a shop with the possibility of on-site work. If you are a self-starter that enjoys keeping busy, being challenged, and having opportunity for growth, this may be the role for you!
This position is for seasonal work.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience in Pressure Relief Valves and Pressure Safety Valves as well as ideally have machining experience and pressurized equipment experience.
Responsibilities:
Making repairs to valvesAssembling and breaking down new or used equipmentInspecting, repairing and testing equipmentField service work as neededTear down and troubleshooting of customer owned property for inspection, repair, reassembly and testingAssembling, testing, and painting of new or used wellhead/tree sectionsCourteous and professional communication with customers, vendors and Unified Valve Group Team MembersAdherence to Unified Valve Group’s Safety Policies and ProceduresGeneral shop maintenance and up keep including storage, equipment clean-up and shipping and receiving as neededRequirements:
PRV/PSV experienceInstrumentation an assestMachining experience an assetPressurized equipment experience an assetVery strong mechanical aptitude and experienceTechnical certificate an assetStrong problem solving ability with minimal supervisionMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms and stoopMust have good computer skills, experience with Valve Tech would be considered an assetAbility both in a team environment and alone with minimal supervisionAbility to read and write clearlyMust be able to operate safely in a heavy equipment shop environment as well as on-siteThere is the possibility of being required to go in the field.
