In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.

Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Required Qualifications:

This position may be PACU and Day Surgery eligible with qualified candidates.

Must be willing to work in both units if eligible.

If no candidates with recent Day Surgery/PACU experience, consideration may be given to candidates with 2-3 years acute care inpatient surgical nursing experience within the last 5 years or critical care experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of commonly encountered disease entities, associated nursing diagnoses/problem statement, effects of medical and surgical interventions, and concomitant nursing interventions required.

Experience with application of professional knowledge, technical and interpersonal skills, and clinical judgment in the delivery of professional nursing.

Ability to handle heavy or awkward items (lifting, transferring, carrying) and withstand considerable walking or standing.

Adherence to nursing policy and practice standards and Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

Ability to be physically confined to an area due to job demands.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient information and health records.

Ability to identify own strengths and weaknesses and showing initiative for improvement.

Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others and accept change.

Ability to adhere to nursing policy and practice standards.
