On Call Health Care Security Guard

Job Description

• Apply decision‑making and strong communication skills to all duties and responsibilities related to Security and Safety
• Ensure that Safety and Emergency Procedures are followed
• Follow Post Orders for each site posted
• Undertake site‑specific training; follow direction and guidance from Client Service Manager or Supervisor
• Conduct traffic and pedestrian control at site access points and vehicles
• Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a motor vehicle to ensure personnel, building, and equipment security
• Monitor the environment for safety infractions or hazards
• Watch for and report irregularities such as security breaches, facility or safety hazards, and emergency situations
• Offer support to any person in need of assistance
• Contact emergency responders (police, fire, ambulance) as required
• Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of data and information
• Respond to inquiries and requests for information appropriately
• Utilize two‑way radio and computer applications
• Act with professionalism and integrity
• Demonstrate an active interest in promoting safety in the workplace
• Motivate, support, and inspire co‑workers

• Availability for a variety of shifts including overnight shifts and weekends
• Ability to obtain an Alberta Security License
• Valid class 5 licence and own vehicle
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills with a professional, tactful, and friendly demeanor
• Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain site logs
• Ability to make immediate decisions while maintaining composure in emergency situations with minimal supervision
• Discretion when handling confidential and private information
• Ability to perform under pressure and in adversity
• Ability to walk 18‑20 km and climb stairs
• Authorized to legally work in Canada

• First Aid, CPR Level C

• Daily Pay allows employees to receive pay before payday
