Community Peace Officer

Join the Grande Prairie community as a uniformed Community Peace Officer. Engage with residents, enforce laws, and ensure public safety through proactive patrols and community programs.

As a Community Peace Officer, you will maintain social order while addressing safety concerns and enforcing Municipal, Provincial, and Federal laws.

Your role includes education, investigation, and community engagement to enhance public safety. You will also conduct traffic safety activities, animal control, and collaborate with local law enforcement agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Educate and enforce City Bylaws and Provincial Statutes

• Conduct proactive patrols on foot, bike, and vehicle

• Manage traffic control and collision investigations

• Engage in community events including workshops and BBQs

• Handle animal control and welfare investigations

Requirements:

• Diploma in law enforcement or social sciences

• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license with fewer than 6 demerits

• Proficiency with electronic hardware and software

• Current Standard First Aid Certificate

• Successful completion of CPOIP or equivalent training
