Transit Dispatcher

Become a vital part of public transport operations as a Transit Dispatcher in Grande Prairie. This position requires strong communication skills and efficient dispatching to meet the needs of the community.

Under the guidance of the Transit Operations Coordinator, your role involves scheduling, routing, and dispatching for both Conventional and Accessible Transit. You'll communicate effectively with drivers and the public, manage operational paperwork, and provide critical support for service efficiency. Your contributions will enhance transportation services for seniors and disabled individuals while ensuring reliable public transport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispatch and route Conventional and Accessible Transit vehicles

• Maintain two-week work schedules for drivers

• Monitor service routes and ensure schedule integrity

• Create reports on daily manifests and service requests

• Maintain communication between operators, clients, and supervisors

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education or equivalency

• 2 years of dispatch experience

• Exceptional customer service skills

• Proficiency with communication and scheduling systems

• Ability to adapt to new technologies
