Casual Utility Worker Transit

Become part of the City of Grande Prairie's Transit Department as a Casual Utility Worker. This role focuses on fleet maintenance and cleanliness in a dynamic public service environment.

As a Casual Utility Worker, your key duties will revolve around the upkeep of transit vehicles, ensuring they are ready for service and properly maintained. You'll assist the maintenance department while learning essential skills related to bus equipment and safety regulations. Working flexible shifts, including weekends, you will fulfill a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of transit services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fuel and clean all transit vehicles thoroughly

• Maintain records of bus fueling and emergency equipment

• Document fleet damage and communicate with management

• Clean and organize the garage and fueling station

• Assist maintenance staff and manage bus assignments

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid Class 3 driver’s license and clean driving record

• Air brakes (Q) endorsement needed

• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

• Must meet physical requirements for the role
