We are looking for Class 1 Truck Drivers
to join us and become part of our Arrow family in Grande Prairie, Alberta
.As an Arrow driver, you will be hauling wood fibre locally in B train trailers. Wood fibre is mainly comprised of wood chips, but we also haul sawdust and hogfuel. You will travel on various highways in and around Grande Prairie.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.
  • Perform pre and post andenroute trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety,roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.
  • Complywithall rules and regulations, protocols andestablishedmetrics.
  • Efficiently maneuver truckand trailer(s) into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
  • Mayoperateloading equipment as per role requirements.
  • Check mobile equipment (i.e.frontendloaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor.
  • Report all safety hazards or conditionsencounteredat load, unload,yardand shop sites.
  • Record,Maintain and Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Complete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workers.
  • Assistin loading and unloading of trucks.
  • Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.
  • Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.

    Tarping loads may be a requirement.
  • Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor/dispatchregardingcustomer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems.
  • Ensure that all customers,co-workers and the public are dealt with professionally and with respect.
  • Train others when required.
You Possess
  • Class 1 driver’s license
  • Super B and mountain driving experience is required
  • Proven ability to drive in snowand other adverse weather conditions
