Overview
Description: Performs mechanical, electrical, piping, hydraulic and structural maintenance including troubleshooting, modification or repair of production equipment and inspection equipment.
Responsibilities- Performs mechanical, electrical, piping, hydraulic and structural maintenance including troubleshooting, modification or repair of production equipment and inspection equipment.
- Electrical and piping duties are defined as the load side of the isolation component from the main distribution system to and including the equipment.
- Production equipment is defined as equipment used to store, plate, grind, drill, clean, shape or form materials by cutting, impact, pressure and electrical techniques, or by a combination of these processes.
- Disassemble and assemble machine tool mechanisms involving bearings, spindles, clutches, brakes, couplings, cams, gears, shafts, hydraulic and pneumatic components and control mechanisms.
- Determine causes for and correct production equipment or inspection equipment failures.
- Lays out and performs machining and bench operations to make replacement and repair parts.
- Install and/or repair pumps for machine-tools, air compressors, vacuum pumps, reduction gear units, and pneumatic hand tools.
- Work with refrigeration Pipefitter and Electrician as needed for on-site repairs on refrigeration and electrical components.
- Lubricate equipment and install filters on production and inspection equipment as required.
- Use all tools and equipment to hoist, move, unload, install, set, maintain alignment and level existing inspection and production equipment components, including pumps.
- Transport tools, materials and equipment to and from job site and perform related tasks as necessary.
- Order stock and maintain spare parts for production and inspection equipment.
- Perform necessary paperwork and conduct difficult and precise alignments, leveling, and tests of equipment.
- Follow sketches, prints, specifications, and written or oral instructions.
- Ability to read parts manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
- Familiarity with operating and setting up CNC equipment – minimum 2 years of experience.
- Experience with machining equipment: laser alignment, PLC/computer control systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with lathe operations, mechanical and PLC/computer control systems.
- Experience with laser welder troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with computer system troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with vertical storage and retrieval system troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with ultrasonic cleaners troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of shop mathematics and industrial hydraulics common to machine tools, molding and draw presses may be required.
