Overview

Thank you for your willingness to volunteer in the Grandview School District. Parental and community involvement are key to student success, and we appreciate your time and contribution in support of school programs.

Getting Started

The first step is to fill out a volunteer application with the district. Grandview School District conducts criminal background checks on all applicants through the Washington State Patrol. There are no fees to applicants. A volunteer application must be filled out every three school years. Volunteers are expected to follow all current district policies and procedures while volunteering. Please expect the application process to take at least one week.

Roles and Expectations

Volunteers serve as helpers working under the direction of a school staff member.

  • Accept direction from district staff members and, if applicable, attend specific training before assisting with any activity.
  • Refer any student problem that may arise to the classroom teacher or district staff member.
  • Abide by the building's procedures for signing in and out of the building each day.
  • Follow all district policies and procedures.
  • Dress appropriately.
