Occupational Therapist position with Grandview School District #200. This role involves supporting student access to curriculum and activities through adapted environments, assessments, collaboration with families and school teams, and direct service aligned with IEP goals.
Responsibilities- Adapts classroom environments, tools, and materials to support student access to curriculum and activities.
- Assists with student assessments in areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, motor planning, and daily living tasks to identify needs and inform interventions.
- Participates in IEP meetings, training, and team discussions to share and receive information related to school-based OT practices.
- Collaborates with therapists, educators, and families to review goals, plan services, and recommend strategies.
- Implements therapeutic activities and trains staff and caregivers in proper techniques, equipment use, and classroom adaptations aligned with IEP goals.
- Maintains accurate documentation and records (e.g., progress notes, activity logs) to ensure compliance and track student progress.
- Keeps therapy equipment clean and functional to support safe and effective sessions.
- Prepares reports and written materials to communicate progress and support service delivery.
- Provides direct therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals and best practices.
- Troubleshoots and maintains assistive devices, offering alternative strategies as needed.
- Transports therapy materials and equipment to ensure readiness for sessions.
- Education:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in a job-related area. - Experience:
Experience working with children and families of varied cultural backgrounds preferred. Experience in Occupational Therapy preferred. - Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
Must have a Washington State School Occupational Therapist Certificate. Must meet WA State Certification Criteria. - Minimum qualifications:
Relates well with students, parents, and peers. Excellent classroom control. Ability to work in a team environment and at district and building levels to develop curriculum. Motivated, creative, and resourceful with a professional appearance. Goal-oriented (long-range and short-range).
- Salary: $55,772 - $109,982 (Salary dependent upon education and experience.)
- Salary prorated to reflect a tentative 0.42 FTE, based on a 2-day-per-week schedule at 7 hours per day.
- Working days: 2 days per week
- Hours per day: 7 hours

Work EnvironmentThe usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require physical activity including occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, and some fine finger dexterity. The job generally involves 30% sitting, 40% walking, and 30% standing, and is performed in a largely hazard-free environment with minimal temperature variations.
