The Civil Engineer, Transmission, Distribution, and Substations EPC provides expert technical support throughout all project phases and preconstruction. This includes conceptual and detailed site civil/structural design, hydrology and stormwater calculations, environmental permitting, right-of-way oversight, and geotechnical investigation coordination. Based on their professional experience, the Civil Engineer EPC brings comprehensive civil engineering knowledge and a solid understanding of the project development lifecycle, which may span construction, site design and planning, and adherence to applicable engineering criteria and standards.

MYRE serves customers participating in a nationwide engineer-procure-construct (EPC) delivery. MYRE works on a wide range of projects and EPC contracting services, including large transmissions and substation projects, complete solar facilities, and energy storage.
Essential Functions- Support preconstruction, estimating, and project teams by managing the Engineer of Record (EOR) for EPC substation and transmission line projects. Review all submittals from the EOR
- Understand and review civil and structural construction plans, engineering reports, design-basis documents, stormwater calculations, and best management practices
- Design transmission line and substation foundations, as well as structural steel components
- Review—and when needed, prepare—plans, calculations, specifications, drawings, and other engineering documents
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and geological/topographical data to plan and design project
- Oversee professional service providers, including aerial and ALTA surveys, geotechnical investigations, detailed civil/structural design, environmental studies, hydrology assessments, and permitting support
- Enable project teams to oversee field services like soil testing and land surveying
- Coordinate engineering, environmental permitting, geotechnical, and other services with the Project Executive or Project Manager
- Provide environmental permitting and compliance support, and communicate with authorities having jurisdiction regarding permit matters
- Use Civil 3D, MFAD, and other relevant software to support the teams
- Support proposal development and cost estimating with engineering input
- Optimize designs to achieve cost savings
- Other duties as assigned
- Occasional travel up to 25% required
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Remote or hybrid work model may be available - office locations in Grandville, MI or Castle Rock, CO
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards
This position can be remote or hybrid schedule in Castle Rock, Colorado (CO) or Grand Rapids, Michigan (MI).
Qualifications About You- Minimum 5 years of civil design experience on substations and/or transmission lines
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in relevant work environments preferred
- Substation structure design experience including: steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering and foundations
- Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, fire-walls site layouts & grading, stormwater management, and erosion control
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering
- Proficient in interpreting and reviewing project drawings, permits, and other technical documents
